started seeing this girl in the spring knowing she’d be moving away in the fall. we agreed to keep things casual and just enjoy the summer but halfway through we decided to give long distance a shot.
i guess she changed her mind. our last day together was supposed to be this weekend but after a small argument last night she ended things. she said she’d been having conflicting feelings about us for a while.
i know the writing was on the wall but damn it still hurts. it feels like an endless punch to the gut. i’m going to miss her so much. i really thought we’d find a way to make it work. just sad.

i had this whole future in my head with someone who was already halfway out the door, and knowing it might end didn't make the ending hurt any less
having to grieve someone while still thinking, “maybe we could've made it work.” i had to stop arguing with the ending in my head and just let myself miss them for a while.

I totally understand how you feel. I've been dating an exchange student since this spring, but we both knew that he had to fly back to his country in June. Although he told me that he is not capable of an ldr right now, I was kinda hoping that maybe he will change his mind. He didn't. It has been almost 2 months since he left but it is so hard to deal with it.
