I finally figured out why I was having those crying spells yesterday: I got my period. šš
All the stress Iāve been going through apparently messed up my cycle, so I didnāt even realize my period was coming.
I want to tell you about something my friend and I talked about last night.
Iāve mentioned before how small the workplace I work at is and how I constantly run into my ex there. There are two teams at this workplace. One team has four people, including my ex, and they work there six days a week. My friend and I are on the other team, which works more part-time, so weāre there a maximum of four or five days a week.
Yesterday, while talking to my friend, we realized something: my ex is the only person in that group who treats us well and actually helps us. The others constantly act like theyāre trying to put us down or belittle us, even though we all do the same job.
We also realized that one of the girls in that group has apparently been gossiping about both me and my friend, and weāve apparently been gossiping about each other without knowing it. Letās call her X. While talking about all this, we remembered some things.
For example, ever since my ex and I broke up, whenever X talked to me, she would tell me that he didnāt want a relationship. I would ask, āIs he talking to someone?ā and she would say no. I would ask, āDid he tell you something?ā and she would say no again. I would say, āThen is it written on his forehead that he doesnāt want a relationship?ā but she never gave me an answer.
X and I were actually close friends this year, but we havenāt really talked much since the beginning of summer because I realized how much she gossips.
Another thing came back to me. Some time after my ex and I broke up, we decided to stay friends and went to the cinema together. However, a few days after the cinema, my ex told me that he didnāt want to stay friends anymore and that we could only talk at work. After that, I spoke to X on the phone, and she told me, āWe told your ex, āWhy are you going? You shouldnāt have gone.āā That made me wonder whether their comments had influenced his decision not to see me outside of work anymore.
Now that I think about it, these are the people who spend 11ā12 hours a day with my ex. Of course, Iām not questioning his reasons for breaking up with me. But it does make me realize that apparently my relationship is being discussed behind my back.
Maybe, if my ex ever wanted to fix things between us, he might have come to talk to me, but perhaps these people told him, āDonāt get back together with her. Youāre doing perfectly fine right now.ā
I donāt know. Maybe none of this is actually happening. But realizing all of this has definitely made me question some things.
By the way, I donāt think X did any of this because she has feelings for my ex. But since sheās the kind of person who talks behind everyoneās back, I also canāt say that Iām completely surprised if she did something like this.

iād be careful with X, but i wouldnāt let guesses become facts in your head either. i learned the hard way that chasing what people might have said only kept me tied to my ex longer.
do you feel like youāre trying to understand what really happened, or hoping thereās still a reason behind the breakup that could change things?
after my breakup i started connecting every little comment and conversation around my ex, trying to figure out who influenced what. it drove me CRAZY because i could never know what was actually said.
oh damn
what do you thinkš„²
