After four year relationship long distance we broke up in may, he reached out in Aug 18th, we have been talking or texting depending on our schedules, I was originally going for a solo trip to San Diego earlier this month but life happens and I had to push it back.
He’s currently in l.a, so I’ve moved my trip to stay in l.a and he’s invited me to stay at his. He was really worried about me being on my own. He has always been protective, so I was surprised he offered as I was quiet happy about getting my own accommodation.
we have gone over aspect of our relationship and what each of us did wrong over the years. I’m surprised as I was so heartbroken when he left and I really thought I’d never hear from him.
Has anyone ever got back with there ex? How did it go?

excited, but strange as we didn’t talk for three months and I never expected to hear from him again
four years is a LONG time to have someone in your life. when i got back in contact with my ex, i tried to pay more attention to what was changing between us than to how good it felt having them back.
yeah that’s what we are doing, it’s a new relationship so we are doing things differently and paying attention to each other better.
that weird stage where the person who broke your heart suddenly feels close again. i remember how badly i wanted a second chance, then realized i needed to see whether things were actually different before letting myself get attached again.
it’s a weird feeling, he definitely has changed and is listening to me and how he communicates. I’m still very guarded but I am surprised he contacted me. He is definitely better at wording things and understanding me better.
we are back together just building up trust between us both again which we’ve both agreed it’s going to take time
