we’ve been broken up for about a week because he wants to focus on school right now and doesn’t want to be in a relationship. he’s told me multiple times he still loves me, wants to be with me, and sees me in his future. we went no contact for a little bit but he wants to stay friends. i accepted, but sometimes it’s hard. we still flirt and when we’re together we act like we’re dating without the kissing and stuff. i just miss my baby so much. i don’t know what to do. he’s taking me to the store later and i want to say something but i don’t want everytime we hang out to turn into a talk like that. i get he doesn’t want a relationship right now but my biggest fear is him moving on. i’m doing stuff for myself because i also have stuff to work on during this time. i just really hope we find our way back to each other.

the mixed signals are what messed me up the most. protecting a little space for yourself even while you hang out helped me stop hoping every time we acted like a couple.
that’s what i’m trying to do. deep down i still hope but im becoming more okay with the fact that it may not happen. we hung out last night and it was fun. we still flirt and he told me that he’s proud of the process ive made so far. he won’t kiss me on the lips but he’ll kiss me on the cheek. he was looking at me when we were saying bye last night and said “i don’t know if i should say what i want to say” and told him to say it and he told me he loves me. i just want my baby back honestly. he bought tickets to take me to my first football game on sept 20th and i think im still going to go. i everyone’s saying he’s just holding me around to see if he can find something better and if he doesn’t he’ll come back to me, but i honestly don’t think that’s the case. i think im just afraid to be wrong about that. he’s told me that wont happen and im choosing to believe him. i told him that’s the only thing i want is honesty. and said thats the only thing he can promise me. i just want him back. what ended up happening between you two?
i was in almost the exact same spot last year where he kept saying he still saw a future with me but needed to focus on school, and we stayed in that weird friends-who-flirt limbo for months. the missing him while still seeing him was the hardest part.

Right now he knows that you are waiting and that you're an option. It's either all or nothing. Otherwise he will keep stringing you along. You deserve way better than this. A relationship is built on mutual love, trust and respect. How is he respecting you? Your needs aren't being met and there is someone out there that would meet them.
