Why did he curse me for being depressed?

I messaged my bf saying how depressed I was and how he has been treating me and he got mad saying that I should've give him a break cause he had exams and he stated that he was gonna take a pill and then the next morning he'll message me. I pointed out how dismissive it was that ke just cared about himself and he started cursing me saying that he's tired of me and I can do whatever tf I wanted to do because I didn't give him a break for his exams. Mind you I've been repeatedly telling him "good luck" and even wrote paragraphs, been patient while he wouldn't be active etc and the one day I asked him why he didn't tell me he was home changed everything to the point now he's cursing me because apparently I'm depressed and didn't give him a break during his exam. Wow that just broke me more

the guilt got me worse than the breakup itself. i kept thinking i should've been more understanding, more patient, less needy, while forgetting that i was hurting too.

this really broke you because you were trying so hard to give him grace already. do you feel like you've been walking on eggshells around his needs while yours keep getting pushed aside?

I have been actually. It's like when his needs aren't being met then that's usually the root of all arguments. Recently his roommate and his partner broke up and his roommate all of a sudden pointed out my attitude to him one night without knowing why(we had sex and he went to his phone so that's why) and so I guess they spoke after I got out of the car and he told me he won't ever see it that way. In the argument we had last night that made me post this post he called me childish (what his roommate calls his girl)

i've had a day where i finally admitted i was struggling and somehow ended up feeling guilty for needing my partner at all. being met with anger when you're already hurting cuts DEEP.
