It’s been 70 days since July 1st. Sometimes, now that so much time has passed, I feel like I should miss him less by now, but I still miss him so much.
I wish I only missed the future we had planned together. Then I could tell myself that, with time, I could make different plans. But I genuinely miss the time we actually spent together. Our conversations, laughing together, having him by my side, the ordinary days… Everything.
I haven’t seen him at all since August 25th, and not seeing him hasn’t made me miss him any less; if anything, I’ve missed him more and cried more. I’m not crying now, but there’s still this huge longing inside me.
There’s also something else. After the breakup, he started posting stories much more often. A few days after I unfollowed him, he removed me too, and he hasn’t posted a single story since then—about 15 days now. I don’t know if it means anything. Maybe it’s a coincidence, maybe it isn’t. Maybe he’s hurting too, maybe he misses me but doesn’t show it.
I don’t know.
I think what I wonder about the most is this:
Was what was so real to me still real for him, somewhere deep down?
Because I don’t just miss the future we once imagined. I miss the life we actually lived together. And the fact that it’s been 70 days doesn’t make missing him any less real.

missing the actual little moments hurt so much more than missing some imagined future. the conversations, the stupid laughs, just having them beside you, those are the things that stayed with me too.
i remember counting the days after my breakup and getting frustrated because i thought i should be better by then. eventually i stopped using the number of days as a measure of how much i was allowed to miss them, because 70 days can pass and your heart can still be right there.
you think you’re hoping his silence means he misses you because a part of you still needs to know that what you had mattered to him too?
