Why can't i move on from this situationship?

this guy and I have been in a situationship for about a year and a half. I recently drove to see him in Florida (18+ hr drive) and I stayed there for a while with him. I left and I admit I was kinda up on him afterwards but then he went on a trip back home for a wedding. I overreacted about something and then apologized. he didn’t answer. I have since then spammed called and texted and still no answer. im going no contact, he’s said he’s needed space before when I do these things and I’ve been trying not to but when he doesn’t communicate i get in my head because it’s not like we’re exclusive. Im not sure if he’ll reach out again and I’m not sure I want him too even if I do like him a lot.

i had to stop making their silence something i needed to solve. going no contact gave me room to see how much of my energy was going into guessing what they felt, and honestly, that space helped me get my head back.

if he reached out tomorrow and wanted to pick things back up, would you actually want the same situationship again, or do you think you’re mostly missing the connection you had with him?

I think I’m mostly missing the connection. what we had in the beginning was so good, and we wanted to be together but he had a lot of personal things going on and he moved so we didn’t and it slowly went downhill from there. I’ve had the opportunity to make connections again but nothing was quite like him. we clicked so easily. I wish I could stop defending him and just realize he hurt me.

i’ve been in a situationship where the lack of a clear answer made me spiral way harder than the actual ending. i remember staring at my phone after sending way too many messages and feeling embarrassed, like i had somehow cared too much.

yes exactly, and then I beg for him to just answer me and that was embarrassing and I get anxious all over again.

it’s healthy to admit it’s a situation ship but it’s not healthy to stay in it,im going through a similar experience in a situation where we both keep hurting eachother but aren’t anything,we decided to let eachother go after 2 years of constant on and off of suffering, ending a situation ship is hard because your nervous system is so used to this toxic environment it becomes normal and unhealthy,i know your already deep but it’s important to maintain no contact, your allowed to love him and still not want him to reach out,you will heal from it the more you stay away from eachother, block his socials and let him have his space,he chose what he wanted now you get to choose what you want!!
