I deeply regret ever meeting my ex. I should have trusted my gut and declined the blind date my coworker arranged. Giving him a chance only resulted in getting hurt and I'd trade our few good months away in a heartbeat to escape this anger.
The hardest part to accept is how thoroughly he lied. He pretended he wanted a real future with me just to sleep with me maintaining the illusion until the red flags became impossible to ignore. I held on for as long as I could not realizing his intentions were selfish from the start.
I am walking away for good with no regrets on my end knowing I loved genuinely and treated him right. He is the one who has to live with his own deceitful behavior and karma will handle the rest. If losing someone who truly cared is a victory in his eyes he can keep the trophy. I’m done and I look forward to the day I forget he ever existed.

wanting karma to make things right so badly, but i eventually stopped waiting for it. i kept reminding myself that i knew how i showed up, and i didn’t need him to admit what he did for me to walk away with my peace.
i’ve had that anger too, when you look back and realize how much of what you believed was built on someone else’s lies. i hated that i had given someone my trust so freely, but i also knew i loved them honestly, and i’m still proud of that part of me
i feel like you’re already choosing yourself here, but do you think the anger is more about what he did, or about wishing you had seen the red flags sooner?
