I thought he was my soulmate because our goals hobbies and lifestyles aligned so perfectly. However our values when it came to loyalty and honesty were completely different.
During our first few months he strung me along while secretly seeing other women and he lied about crucial details like his single status and lingering feelings for his ex. Realizing I was just a rebound broke my trust beyond repair forcing me to leave despite how perfect we seemed on paper.

i kept wishing the good parts would somehow outweigh the lies, but my peace started coming back when i stopped arguing with what his actions had already shown me.

i’ve been there, where everything on paper looks almost perfect and then one thing keeps hurting so badly that you can’t ignore it anymore. finding out my ex had been lying to me made me question so many memories, even though the connection itself had felt real.
