Why do i check his socials at 3am?

I always have trouble not checking his socials at night. I go to bed at a reasonable time because I feed my dogs early (4/5am) but everytime I go to lay back down I want to check his socials and I end up finding out shit I didn’t want to find out. I know I’ve done this before and again hurt myself finding out. I have the self respect to not touch his socials during the day but once I get back into bed after feeding my dogs I can’t help myself.

it’s probably because it’s so early and my anxiety perks at night and so I want to know. he really only has insta and even then I only notice his follower/following and it drives me insane to look but I end up doing it and hurting myself, how do I even begin to stop? he hasn’t read my messages for almost a week now and im really honestly debating on just deleting my own social media for my sanity (other factors as well).

i finally made it harder to reach their socials when i knew i’d be tired and anxious, because willpower was basically useless at 4am. deleting the app for a while gave me some peace, and honestly i stopped feeling like i was waiting for the next thing that would hurt me

i’ve been there with that 3am urge to check, when your brain suddenly needs to KNOW and you already know you’re probably gonna hurt yourself with whatever you find. i could go all day without checking too, then one quiet night would undo me.

if you actually want to delete your socials completely, or if a part of you mainly wants to stop having access to his socials when those early-morning thoughts hit?

I have wanted to delete my socials for a while (snap and insta) and really only having TikTok but I just can’t bring myself to do it

take baby steps.. dont block/ unfollow.. try muting them first so they dont show up in liked reels by friends feed...i also check following count constantly but that just means we r looking for signs whether they have moved on.. i guess try reducing yr screen time first.. go outside to parks w yr dogs and friends.. go gym, try cooking new meals.. try art like painting because pain can open emotional channels that help tune the artistic side to us
