My ex and I broke up a month ago after two years together. Shortly after the split she began staying at her guy best friend's house for comfort. She recently asked to meet up to confess that they drank together and hooked up twice.
She claimed the first time was a mistake she regretted yet admitted to doing it a second time a week later because she was horny and missed me. When I suggested we become friends with benefits instead she refused saying she didn't want to get reattached to me. She also admitted that if he hadn't recently ditched her she would likely still be hooking up with him.
Hearing these details was deeply painful and I regret keeping the lines of communication open. She is currently in a rebellious phase and while I know staying in touch is only hurting me I am struggling to cut her off completely after two years together. I feel totally lost on what to do next.

i’ve been in that place where an ex tells you details you can’t unhear, and somehow you keep talking because cutting them off feels even more painful. two years together is a lot to let go of, especially when part of you is still hoping there’s something left to save.
honestly, staying in touch kept reopening the wound for me. i had to stop being available to my ex while i was still hurting, even when i missed them like crazy, because every conversation left me feeling worse.
when you imagine cutting contact completely, is the hardest part losing her from your life, or the fear that if you let go, any chance of getting back together disappears?
what lines of communication are open rn?
i usually lose interest automatically when someone cheats/ interested in anyone apart from me idk why but thank god for it
holy shit man
