Do you think that you and your partner need to share the same thought process for encountering new things/problems? Do you think that it interferes with compatibility?
Me ex and I by no means thought the same way (I have ADHD and he does not). This was a big issue for him as time went along. As we navigated scenarios very differently but had the same core values.

The keyboard really gave you that much confidence huh. I am too old for you if you're in school. Move it along
I love you I like you
i didn’t need my partner to think like me, i needed them to respect how i think. differences stopped feeling so threatening when i felt like my way of seeing things wasn’t being treated as a problem that needed fixing.
do you think his frustration was more about the different thought process itself, or about how those differences played out between you two?
He said it was different thought processes :/ Only he knows
It was also a hard situation because he is deployed in a heavy combat area. So his stress was already at max capacity. He said he felt disconnected and like our thought processes don't align
Yes I think so that way they may understand how you feel about certain things which lead to those misunderstanding. I think navigating around certain issues/problems would be easier
my ex and i could look at the exact same problem and somehow come up with completely different answers. we still cared about the same things, but constantly having to explain why my brain got there differently became exhausting.
Me and my ex also had very different thought processes. Not only that but also different values. So no matter what we did, there was always misunderstandings. So for me Yes, your partner has to be on the same thought process as you.
