It’s been about a week now since I’ve last called him; some days are better than others but today I’ve just gone through a lot of what happened to us. Whether it was him or me that caused this separation. A lot of our arguments we were projecting our insecurities onto one another because we weren’t fully healed from our previous relationships. I don’t like liars (who does) but if I have to catch somebody in a lie, I don’t trust them anymore and yet I did with him, I kept finding out small things and he would keep lying (nothing like talking to other girls) but still these small lies would still hurt me because I’ve asked numerous times for him to stop lying to me.
Given, I can be at fault too because he’s asked me to stop doing things that I just couldn’t help (yet I was getting better at). I just can’t help but think it was because of these things that things went sideways with us. Idk I think I’m still projecting and defending him because that’s all I’ve been doing.

i stayed with my ex for two years constantly forgiving those "small" lies, and it completely destroyed my trust until i turned into a person i barely recognized, constantly checking up on him and feeling like the bad guy for it. when someone repeatedly lies after you ask them to stop, that isn't you being a hypocrite, that's your gut trying to protect you from being lied to.
me stop taking all the blame was writing down two columns on a piece of paper: what i actually did wrong versus how he chose to react and lie. seeing it right in front of me made me realize i was carrying accountability for both of us while he took none.
you still in touch with him right now, or have you been able to give yourself some distance to get your head above water?
it’s been a week since I last called him, I’m sticking to NC till he reaches out and explains to be why this all happened and that no explanation is an explanation
