Why did he leave so suddenly?

Anything and everything can be gone in the blink of an eye. 2 months ago we were here on the couch laughing watching funny stuff playing music and dancing, kissing, in each others arms. He decided we are not compatible and brokeup. The one who used to cry coz he was afraid of losing me afraid of misunderstanding him. The one who always was the first to text back when ever I was upset, “ do you want to talk? let’s talk through this” he decided on his own all of a sudden that nothings going to be different even if we talk or take time to process and couldn’t wait to break things off. I wonder if he never feels the loss or never misses any of the moments spent together ,never regrets breaking things off. How can someone change so much in a day? I wish I was like that too. I wish he gave me the real reason he chose to leave. But I know someday I will know I will become strong I won’t cry when his thought comes to mind. It’s gonna be like yeah he had his own issues but I suffered coz of that and that’s it to the story.
But now I am drowning I can’t study or function in a normal way I can’t stop thinking about him and thoughts like what if only I could have done it differently now i could have been still with him feeling a little happy and a little loved.
Here I am waiting though everyday I tell myself there. nothing to wait he’s never coming back. I wish he comes back.

when my brain wouldn't stop looping those "what if i did things differently" thoughts, i had to force myself to write down a reminder on my phone that it took two people to build that couch memory, but only one person chose to tear it down. you couldn't have saved something on your own when he already decided to stop talking and walk away.

hi you have a close friend or family member nearby who can come sit with you right now while it feels this heavy and hard to function

that sudden shift where the person who was terrified of losing you just flips a switch and walks out. when my ex left after three years, i laid on my floor for days staring at the ceiling, wondering how someone could go from slow dancing with me in the kitchen to treating me like a total stranger overnight. it makes you feel like you're going crazy, but you're not, that shock is just so heavy to carry.

Do you know when will I feel okay? we were together for eights month. I don’t want to cry for someone who consciously chose to leave. But I have no control on these tears and sadness.

if I'm going to be honest I don't know when you would feel okay, when it comes to things like this there's not a matter of being okay or not. it fluctuates, some days you don't care, some days you're numb, some days you feel like you've moved on, and some days you feel this crushing grief. I know you don't want to mourn someone that chose to leave you behind, but you have to look and ask yourself if your grieving the person or grieving the relationship and the memories you both made together.

I'm really sorry to hear that, it seemed like something that came completely out of nowhere. there's a possibility there's things going on that you may not know about. but either way he has decided to close that door on your relationship. you're right for being upset because of a lack of an explanation. but sometimes breaks like these don't break even, and you definitely got the short end of the stick. during this time it's okay to be sad and okay to grieve what you lost.
