it's been 7 months since the separation in about 4 months since the divorce. 136 days no contact. today I cried on the way home from work. is that normal?

I come here and now to talk about it because I feel like everybody on my Facebook and my relatives and friends are sick of it. it's funny how you get more support from total strangers than you will from family and friends. everyone just says move on. like it's that simple. I mean it was simple for her to move on definitely not for me though.
So, so normal. You're grieving the future you thought you'd have but no longer will. Divorce is a LONG healing process, and not linear. I've been divorced for almost a year, but we still tried to remain friends. Horrible decision. I wish I could've just let go sooner.
It's extremely normal. Our reactions to emotions are the most natural and sincere thing our bodies have given us.
maybe you didn't expect it because since "a lot" of time had passed you thought you were better and had already solved everything: the truth is that YOU ARE BETTER, admitting these things and asking yourself questions is the first step to get back on track. Your body has spoken to you: maybe after a day of work he was tired, plus it has reminded you of what you have been through, how you are going through it and maybe of all the challenges you will have to overcome to return to the person you were.
you can do it!! xx
i burst into tears in the middle of a grocery store six months after my breakup, out of nowhere, over a brand of cereal he used to buy. healing isn't a straight line, and crying at 136 days just means you loved deeply and you're human.
was there a specific trigger on your drive today, or did the heavy wave just hit you out of nowhere
no real trigger but I do live in the same apartment that we used to live in and I drive by the courthouse that we divorce that everyday
extremely normal. grieve isn’t a linear line. it comes and goes and you are grieving the relationship, the potential of the relationship, and the future you could have had. that takes time and it will come in waves. allow yourself to feel it when it comes
