My girlfriend ended our six-month relationship on the first day of our junior year of college and it’s been a month and a half since the breakup. She was the first person I ever truly let into my life. A lot of our issues stemmed from a lack of communication—she didn't voice her grievances and I didn't pry when I could tell something was off.
We’ve texted briefly and run into each other twice but I think about her constantly. Now that I clearly understand our past mistakes and root problems I want to try reconnecting. Should I reach out to her and how should I approach it?

What would you want to accomplish by reaching out? Knowing the issues or the root of the issue is one thing. I haven't heard from you really saying what you would do differently next time around and you would also need to know how she would have grown during your time apart.
U can try but prepare to get hurt if didn't go ur way
I would say the other replies have been harsh. Just because it was only 6 months doesn't mean the relationship didn't have an impact or importance. It seems you have already reflected on your mistakes, that's a good thing. But our reflection or changes on ourselves can never actually change the other person. While you are willing to change, has she changed? You can't reconnect when both haven't reached the same reflection on the relationship. Go atleast a few months of NC then see if you still want to reconnect. By the time that comes, its up to you if you would still break the NC or just move toward a different future.
what mistake u do ? lack communication she seem avoidant or not interested. I think better no contact first if u wan reach wait after 3 month let's she miss u . focus yourself now go gym journal hobby go out friend made u busy
I hate to say it, but you only were together 6 months. Move on and continue to focus on yourself.
