I invited an old friend over this weekend. her and I have this in common. both are going through a divorce. but she is also having health issues.
I invited her into my home and we drove down the kancamagus highway to see the leaves changing. it was breathtaking and best of all she woke up this morning at her home with a smile on her face that her family noticed.
I guess what I'm trying to say here is no matter what you're going through you can always spread a little happiness to someone else. it doesn't cost anything and it helps you with your healing too.
ps.
nothing romantic happened. it was just two old friends enjoying each other's company.

you guys find any good spots along the Kancamagus to pull over and just watch the leaves fall?
there is a place called artist bluff. it's a huge granite area on top of a mountain. from the interstate there are so many people on that top of that mountain that it looked like the whole top of the mountain was moving. it was insane
what always helped me pull out of my own head was putting energy into someone else who hurt just as much, because sharing that quiet space takes the sharp edge off your own loneliness.
taking someone out of their heavy bubble when they are drowning in divorce and health stress is the kindest thing in the world. i remember dragging my best friend out for a chaotic road trip when we were both at our absolute lowest, and seeing her actually laugh at a gas station snack aisle made my whole chest feel lighter
I love this message! Definitely learning this lesson myself. Hunt for the good! Be the good ✨️
