Why is my relationship falling apart after a year?

Author

My boyfriend and I have been together for a year but our relationship is falling apart over an "ambition gap." After encouraging me to switch my major from Psychology to Business he essentially began managing my life like a manager at work—setting strict deadlines for me to build projects apply for internships and accelerate my graduation.
Whenever I express feeling suffocated or fail to meet his expectations he accuses me of not loving him or caring about our future. During a recent fight where I tried to talk about my struggling mental health he flipped it on me said we were too incompatible and shut down.
Since we are long distance he unshared his location turned off read receipts and gave a vague "I don't know" when asked if we will talk again. I thought he was the one I'd marry but I feel like I'm losing my sense of self trying to live up to his demands. I'm completely lost on what to do next.

before this ambition gap became such a big issue, did you feel like he loved and accepted you as you were, or did you already feel pressure to become the version of yourself he wanted

As smone who's been in a similar situation with different context as much as you believe fighting for the rs will change everything it won't, it's more like your just delay the pain while hurting. you can fight for it and delay the inevitable but it's just gonna make him hate you more.

hey sorry to hear that! I know what you are feeling, and now does it feel when you put extra effort and still people don't recognise it.

What I'm going to tell may sound bad but one thing i want to tell you, you can't earn love through more efforts, through more attention, more initiation.

Its not love if it is constantly want you to keep giving, People may worry about you, but they won't trade your happiness and your togetherness in the name of ambition.

you should secure your peace and let him go completely, if he cares then he will stay and if he doesn't care then what is the point of staying...isn't it?

start giving all the love to yourself that you were giving to him, Sometimes you should give the space or a fear of loosing you completely....so who cares always stay...and who doesn't...you know.

sending lots of love and blessings
