Will they come back after 474 days?

I used to beg my ex during the first month after our breakup because he left me, not to marry me. I told him I was okay with never getting married, being his second wife, or even marrying him when he was 70 and already had a whole family. I was willing to accept anything just to keep him in my life.

But he kept telling me to stay away from him.

Somehow, though, he kept contacting me 3–4 times a month. I always replied, until this month.

I decided to go no contact for good. I ignored him twice, and today, when he contacted me for the third time, he double-texted me on all my social media accounts, apparently thinking I was offline.

But I'm never replying again.

And if you're hoping your ex will come back because they've finally realized how much you loved them, you're wrong. They already know you love them. They know how much you wanted them and how much you were willing to sacrifice to keep them.

Sometimes, they simply think they can do better. Sometimes, they've already started dating someone else. And sometimes, when things don't work out with someone new, or they get ghosted themselves, or they simply have no one else to fill the emptiness in their day, they come back to you.

Don't mistake their return for realization. Don't mistake their attention for love. And don't mistake them missing your presence for wanting a future with you.

They can come back without ever intending to stay.

Never take them back just because they came back. Sometimes, it's the same cycle waiting to happen all over again.
