Why do i miss him even after he left?

Author

I think the biggest thing i miss is just having someone like that to talk to and cherish. When he told me he felt like we were in two different spots in life I was crushed. Not necessarily just because I thought he was my future husband but because after 3 years of being completely single and going through many failed talking stages, I felt like I finally had my person. but that person wasn't ready for me, and maybe you know.. I'm not either? Idk I just miss him so much, even when i feel like God may be giving me peace. Any advice?

something that helped me was remembering that missing someone doesn't mean i need to go back to them. i could be grateful for what we had, trust that life still had things for me, and have days where i cried anyway.

my advice is go easy on yourself. tell yourself in the mirror that you forgive yourself everyday if you can. talk to God and ask him to guide you. I just asked God to guide you and that he leads you toward love. You are strong.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this, I’m going through something similar, just remember you’re not alone in your struggles!

i know that feeling of finally finding someone after so many disappointments, then having to learn how to live without them. i missed my ex so much because he was my person to tell everything to, and losing that everyday closeness hurt in ways i wasn't ready for.

I hear you. It's heartbreaking when the person who felt like home says you're in different places. Missing him doesn't mean you're meant to be with him. It means you're human and you attached deeply. Sometimes the peace you're feeling is real, even if the grief still surges. Both can be true. What helped me was separating "my person" from "the person who is ready and able to meet me." The right person is not just someone I cherish. They are someone whose timeline, values, and effort line up with mine. If he wasn't ready, that's information, not a verdict on your worth.

While you miss him, start feeding the part of you that wants partnership. Pour into the life you want to share. Friends. Routines. Joy you don't postpone. You're not behind. You're becoming more aligned with the love that can actually stay. Peace isn't the absence of pain. It's the growing sense that you don't have to chase what won't choose you.

i understand this so deeply especially the god part I asked god to take him out of my life if he wasn’t good for me now he’s out and I’ve been feeling a bit better but I was also in a relationship for 2 years almost 3 the attachment is the real issue especially because they hurt you and you know they did you js are attached to the love and security.
