was it a casual text or did it actually feel like she was trying to reconnect with you again? because those two things can mess with your head VERY differently

i’d just let yourself feel excited without judging it too hard. when someone mattered to you that deeply, your heart reacts before your brain even catches up
yea it's haven't wanted to texts her because l wasn't sure if she did want to talk to me
my ex reached out out of nowhere once and i swear my whole mood changed instantly. even after everything, one text from them still hits different

That's totally understandable. At one point my ex was going through something hard and reached out to me for support. I felt so good to be valued even in a small way. Eventually I realized I was begging for scraps and that that didn't feel good. But it's only natural to want to feel loved by a person you shared so much of your self with.
