Why it's so hard to leave a toxic relationship

i loved an addict too, and for a long time i thought love alone could carry both of us. it couldn't, and accepting that HURT more than the breakup itself.

i finally admitting that loving someone and being safe with them are two different things, because i spent years confusing the two.

I hear you. I think you have to heal from the trauma bond as they call it. I mean we tend to focus on the good times. maybe we should focus on all the crap they put us through.
