What do you do when you want to know what your ex is doing, so you imagine they’re already with someone else and it feels like a panic attack is about to hit?

when my brain started doing that, i reminded myself i was reacting to a fear, not a fact. it didn't stop overnight, but every time i refused to feed the story, the panic got a little quieter.
is there something that usually sets it off, like social media, a place you used to go together, or does it just hit out of nowhere?
usually when i stop doing my things like work or in the weekend evenings
i know that feeling way too well. i used to make up the worst stories in my head before i even knew the truth, and i'd end up hurting myself over things that might not have even been real.
Like someone else said take a step and cut off all contact block him anywhere you'd see this.
as for exes jumping to another, I've experienced that and it hit and hurt so badly the way she did it to me. so please if you need someone to talk to reach out here. :)
You should take the next step of cutting off all contact and blocking him from all those places like social media where you could get distracted and run into him in pictures or posts, so you avoid thinking about him when you don't actively want to, and more importantly, you have safe places to distract yourself
it’s highly unlikely that they have in most cases. but… sure sometimes it does happen. however it is not something you have any control over. when we overthink usually it ends in thinking negatively. try to breathe. your mind can be your enemy.
Well, our brains can be hurt the same with only our imagination. Honestly.m if this ex is already with someone else he's a f@_+ loser, and it isn't a real loss. Be your own lover first; she can't let you down ;)
