Why i finally blocked my ex for good

So long story short, I was with my ex on and off from the age of 16 until now recently 20. He was a huge part of me life since he has been there when i grew into who i am today. It's not easy for me at all and this time it's final. I blocked him last weekend and unblocked him Sunday night, because I didn't want him to contact me when he felt lonely. I then texted him my final, mature message that I want to leave him in the past and I hope God bless his future. He sent a reply and I just blue ticked it. This morning I went into his chat and I just saw his last seen. A few minutes ago I saw that he blocked me. I don't know how to process the feelings yet, but on the other hand, I'm glad because then I can heal in peace and he won't contact me...

i kept checking my ex's last seen for weeks, and it only kept me tied to someone who was already gone. blue ticking that last message was enough, i'd let his block be the thing that gives me some peace now.

so when after checking his last seen did he eventually block you?

seeing that block felt like the last door finally closing. it hurt way more than i expected, but weirdly it was also the first time i could stop wondering if he'd text me again

letitgo_user

exactly, how are you doing at 47 days no contact? I'm not that far yet

what hurts is that he blocked you first, or is it more that this makes everything feel FINAL?

I blocked him first then unblocked him, but he couldn't see because I removed my profile so he thought I probably blocked him and then he did as well 2 days after my final message. It hurts because he's not the one that usually blocks
