Why did he move on so quickly after our breakup?

Advice please! I need you to give it to me straightforward. So I met this man 4 years ago while I was in a happy space. He was working at McD, I was a remote agent making good money from one job. Eventually we exchanged numbers and everything went up from there. We started seeing each other and got into a relationship a couple weeks into it. We were head over heals then the honeymoon faze wore off at 7 months. I saw a few flaws like his hygiene was a problem, he didn't dress very well because he barely had clothes, and no vehicle. I overlooked all of that and found solutions for him. I would buy him hygiene products, clothes, and even pushed him to get his driver's license. Then we moved in and I had a 3yr old with me. This is when things went down hill. The entire time we lived together I cooked, cleaned, and nurtured the house. He would complain about bills alot. My son would also say he was mean to him. He would tell me "your son just doesn't like me and is probably jealous ". I felt like poverty living with him a noticed I became angry all the time. I became pregnant and stayed. I can remember being in the store and being embarrassed. It was so many things he did to me that I can't write here but I had my baby and then he started to slowly change. I couldn't see it because I was so blinded by him not liking my son and the things he did in the first two years. The entire last year of our relationship was bitter. I was angry all the time and negative. I was the main care giver of our now 1 year old because he took a night shift. I would always complain about getting away from him but never did. I would yell and argue because i was so sleepy. It was to the point where I was disrespectful to him. Eventually I escaped and a month later he had lost weight, looked happier and moved on to a new relationship. Apparently this female has made him so happy and he's in love. I am over weight, tired from parenting and in transition housing. It hurts so bad because I just wanted a family but he didn't love my son. I left for my mental health and my child but it breaks my heart. When I left I still loved him so much. I just wanted to protect my child. Its only been two month since I left and found out about the new woman a week ago. I can only cry. How can I stop the pain?

i’m glad you chose your child and your peace, even though it hurts right now.

when you think about him with someone new, are you hurting more because you miss him, or because it feels like he got the happy family life you wanted with you?

I feel that I build him into the man he is now. I wanted him to suffer for hurting my son and hurting me even though I still loved him. When I saw he was happier without me and im still tired and stuck with the baby, I cried. She got the best version of him from my pain and I got the worse version of him. He apologized and basically said there's no need to talk about our relationship and closure. He has already moved on and it's in the past but im still hurting.

leaving someone i still loved because i knew staying was hurting me. watching them seem happy after you leave feels so unfair, especially when you’re the one carrying the pain.

Very unfair, I hurt because I known it's done. He may move on and start a new family and I will be left with the baby he barely has time for.

this sounds like a really difficult situation for you. I am sorry you are going through this. The best thing I can recommend is to do one kind thing for yourself every day. Do 10 minutes stretching, a walk around the block, call a friend, cook a healthy meal.m, paint your nails. slowly all the little things add up to make you start feeling good about yourself, then you can start doing bigger things for yourself. Let that women take your problem off your hands, it sounds like you are better off. Big hugs 🥰
