but does letting go completely and moving on with my life ruin the chances of him ever reaching our or wanting to try again when we’ve both grown up, matured, and are out of college where we are long distance.
i know he might never come back and i’ve accepted that but i won’t want to do anything that actively lowers the chances

i got tired of putting everything on pause for a maybe. i didn't stop caring overnight, i just stopped making every decision around the hope he'd come back.
he actually ask you to wait for him, or are you carrying that hope by yourself? that changes how i'd look at this.
I just have to say one thing . IF it's meant to be , fate will bring you 2 back together. Maybe in 10 years . Maybe God put him in your life for a reason . Atleast now u know what your looking for in your next relationship
thinking the exact same thing. i was scared that moving on would close the door forever, but all it really did was give me my life back. if someone wanted to come back one day, i wanted it to be because they chose me, not because i stayed waiting.
