Why moving on feels impossible sometimes

People keep telling me to move on, but what they don’t understand is that I wasn’t in love with the idea of having a boyfriend. I was in love with him. That’s why this has been so hard. The hardest part isn’t losing the relationship. It’s grieving someone who’s still alive and well somewhere while trying to make peace with questions that may never be answered.

If you’ve ever had to let go without closure, how did you find peace?Did you ever had resentment?

I had to go on without closure for a long time. eventually I got an apology (two years later). I think that peace can come before an apology, specially if you remove the person from your sight and contact. If you don't see him or talk to him, you start to forget about it

i had to stop waiting for the apology or explanation that i wanted, because every day i waited, i stayed tied to someone who had already let go.

i'm wondering, do you miss the person he really was, or do you find yourself missing the version of him that existed before everything fell apar

i loved him, not just the relationship, and people kept acting like i could swap him out and be fine.

Took me years to find peace with my ex who ghosted me. Still working on it. People don't do that anymore. Give closure. Thank modern pyschology/therapy for that new way of being/thinking. The whole "you don't owe anyone anything mentality."

closure is something we have to give ourselves. sometimes you cant get that from an ex partner. i know the closure i was seeking wasnt what I ended up getting from my ex. What I got out of my "closure" with my ex just made me hurt more. it was better for me to just push myself towards new goals in my life then to try and get that.

it takes time to grieve a long relationship where you are so attached to someone and the future you planned with them.

im still letting go, still figuring out how to move on
.
The difference is, my heart is healed, im at peace, I know it wouldn't work out even if he did come back. But every day I choose to move forward. Every day of choosing not to contact him brings me closer to the day where I finally realise I've let him go

a proper closure never comes...question remains ...because the love and attachement exists...i feel you.....but the closure u want ...only u can give that to urself....the closure can come from the idea...thay maybe even if u got back together ..things will never work....bwcause something has gravely changed and one person cannot alone fix that...and if other is unwilling u cant do much about the situation...
