I used to think losing someone meant losing a part of myself.I replayed the memories questioned what I could've done differently and wondered how someone I loved could hurt me so deeply. But I'm slowly learning that sometimes people leave you with lessons instead of forever.Idon't hate him.....I don't regret loving him. I just don't want to keep holding onto something that already taught me what I needed to learn.
So this chapter isn't about getting him back.
It's about getting me back

i used to think letting go meant admitting the love was a mistake, and it took me a long time to realize i could love someone deeply and still choose myself.
i kept trying to get my ex back until i finally started asking what getting ME back would look like, and that question changed everything for me.
I think sometimes we get so focused on getting them back that we forget to ask what getting ourselves back would look like.
i really felt the part about not hating him. do you feel like you're grieving him now, or the future you thought you'd have together?
Honestly, I think a little bit of both.I miss the person and the memories, but I think I’m also grieving the future I thought we were going to have. That part is harder than I expected.
