Often, we keep replaying the same scenarios in our minds:
*What if I had been more patient?*
*What if I hadn’t been so angry?*
*What if I had handled things differently?*
*What if I had been in a better place emotionally?*
Maybe we are still together.
It is so easy to blame ourselves for how a relationship ended. We imagine that if we had made different choices, perhaps the ending would have been different too.
But holding on to endless *what-ifs* only keeps us living in a past we can no longer change.
And then there is another question our minds often cannot let go of:
*Why?*
Why did they do that to me?
Why were they willing to hurt me?
Why did they change?
Why wasn’t my love enough?
Sometimes, we search for answers from the very person who hurt us, hoping that their explanation will finally give us peace. But not every question has an answer that will heal us.
So, instead of asking *“Why did this happen?”*, try asking yourself:
**How do I feel right now?**
**How have I been feeling since the breakup?**
**What do I need today?**
Maybe you need to cry.
Maybe you need silence and peace.
Maybe you need someone to sit beside you and listen.
Maybe you need rest.
Maybe, for once, you simply need to stop trying to understand everything.
Ask yourself:
**What can I give myself right now?**
You do not have to decide today whether they were the right person for you. You do not have to solve the entire relationship. You do not have to understand every choice they made.
Sometimes, the clarity we are desperately seeking from someone else begins to appear when we finally turn inward and listen to ourselves.
Sadness, grief, anger, longing, and disappointment are not signs that you are failing to move on. They are part of moving through.
Healing is not about forcing yourself to stop feeling.
It is about learning to sit with what hurts without letting it define you.
Be patient with yourself. Let yourself grieve what you lost, what you hoped for, and what you wished could have been.
One day, you may realize that you no longer need every answer.
You simply needed to come home to yourself.

I just can't let go of her, I broke up with her today but if feels like I did the wrong thing. I'm scared cause I lost her but she was no longer mine anymore
when you imagine getting one honest answer from them, what do you hope that answer would finally give you?
I just wanna understand what happen ^^
i've been stuck in the what-ifs too, replaying every argument and wondering which version of me could've saved it. eventually i got tired of putting myself on trial for a relationship that had two people in it.
that’s actually true ^^ I feel tired as well and now I am entering acceptance and start asking questions about myself more than that relationship
