How talking to an old friend helped me move on

so things have changed drastically since my last post.

about 15 days after I made that last post I started talking to an old friend who had a crush on me.

I had been worried about them for some time and just wanted to check on them as a friend.

we had started hitting it off and talking nearly every other day.

things are going slow with us but I think there is definitely something there.

as for grieving my last relationship, thats still in the work and im feeling much better about myself as a person.

talking to a lot of folks here and helping everyone else cope has really helped me aswell.

so thank you all. if you ever need anyone to chat with please reach out. =)

thats good that you’re letting something new grow slowly instead of rushing to fill the empty space.

when i was stuck in my breakup, helping other people through theirs somehow helped me stop drowning in my own pain too. healing can sneak up on you like that

This sounds lovely. I am happy you have found a new connection.

you feel like this new connection feels different because you’re in a better place now, or did something about this person make you feel safe again?

both. I had a connection with this person before but they had gotten into a terrible relationship.. things went south for her. I apparently came back into her life at the right time, as she did mine. we are going slow because we are both fragile still.

my main things that helped was changing my diet(when I started getting an appetite again). the gym, friends, hobbies.

I was feeling better already by the time my friend and I had really started hitting it off.
