Always choose to be good.
When I was 23, I dated someone who was 27. We eventually broke up, and only a month later, he started dating someone new.
At the time, I felt completely disposable. I remember him telling me, “A month is a long time to move on.” Two years later, they got married.
Then, about four years ago, I received a call from an unknown number.
It was him.
He was crying and told me that his marriage was falling apart and they were close to divorce. He said he wanted me back. He even told me that he had gained weight and felt like no one would want him anymore.
And all I could think was: *What makes you think I would?* 😭
But instead of being cruel, I told him gently, “You left our relationship because you weren’t happy. I genuinely hope you find happiness, and I hope you can make things work with your wife.”
He kept asking me to meet him, but thankfully, I refused.
Eventually, he went back to his wife.
Recently, after they had a newborn son, he contacted me again.
This time, I simply blocked him.
And this experience taught me something important:
Always choose to do your best, and always choose kindness even when someone has hurt you.
Not because they deserve unlimited access to you.
Not because being kind means forgetting what they did.
And definitely not because you are waiting for karma to come around.
Be kind because that is the person *you* choose to be.
Then walk away.
Build your life. Grow. Heal. Become wiser. Set stronger boundaries. Stop watching what they are doing and start paying attention to what *you* are becoming.
Sometimes, the person who once made you feel disposable will eventually realize what they lost.
But by the time they do, you may have grown so much that their regret no longer matters.
The greatest revenge is not making someone regret losing you. It is reaching a point where you no longer need them to.

this proves what a beautiful soul you've turned out to be. I always find when people are going through a rough stage, they look and reach out to their past when times were better. You handled this perfectly ❤️
Thank you 😊 I am trying my best ^^ I hope by sharing this, it can help me and everyone to heal ^^
i love that you chose kindness without giving him access to you again.
I realized that’s the person who I wanna be ^^ it has nothing to do with what happened and who. Thank you 😊
that “what makes you think i would?” hit me 😭 did you ever have a moment where you realized you genuinely didn’t want him back anymore, even after everything you once felt for him?
Usually, after I moved on, I rarely look back. For that reason, I always asked my ex “let’s do everything first and fix our relationship” as the last effort. But, usually it’s my ex who never wanna fix it. So, when they go back, I was at the point where I don’t have anything left for them
i’ve been through something similar, where an ex came back years later acting like the past could just be picked up again. i remember that strange feeling of realizing i had already built a life without her, and their regret didn’t change what i had survived.
that’s true. especially after we were facing so many hard times without that person. Proud of you for choosing yourself
