How do you guys deal with the overwhelming emptiness of your apartment after a breakup?
She moved out just two days ago while I was at the beach getting help from her dad. I haven’t been able to eat since she left and I’m relying on sleeping pills just to get through the night. I miss her dog so much—that dog was my best friend my family my whole world. We used to do everything together: going to the gym eating dinner traveling... and now in a matter of hours all of it is just gone.
What used to feel like a warm home is now just a cold empty apartment and the silence is killing me. I’m planning to move out because every corner is packed with memories of her but I'm trapped here for at least two more months until my lease ends.
How do I survive living in this ghost town of an apartment for the next two months without losing my mind?

that first night in an apartment that used to feel like home can feel absolutely brutal. i remember hearing every little sound after my breakup and wishing my ex would just walk through the door again, and losing the dog too would’ve destroyed me.
I feel you. my ex left some pajama pants behind mine actually but they always used to wear them and I couldn’t deal with it all over again. we broke up in may.
i barely ate after mine either, so i tried to make the days really small and simple instead of thinking about the whole two months. one meal, one shower, one night at a time, and i stopped expecting myself to feel okay while everything was still this fresh.
The loudest sound I’ve ever heard is the silence of an empty room
Be patient.. the healing take time
I have never lived with a partner but I can only imagine how that must feel... I am sending you lots of love and healing 💖 Wishing you the best of luck
I stayed at a friends house for a couple of days until I was ready to face it. Sometimes you just need a distraction to get through the worst of it. I always used to say "i need to be put in an induced coma" because the pain was unbearable. Its ok to feel the lowest of lows, just as long as during that time you are building yourself up to face the world again
